Our end-of-season meeting on 26
October: made sure all our kit was in good working order, each
project was moving forward, and new projects coming online.
Vince is dealing with the
appropriate authorities in France and if all goes well, we will
return there soon.
Bill is now trained for geophysical
surveying.
Brian is now to start digital
mapping for Alkham Valley and we intend this to include all
archaeological sites there - ours and all others. This may be a world
first, a 3D digital model of an area with sites from the Neolithic,
Bronze Age, Iron Age and Saxon.
A summary of our work on Greco-India
and its impact on Western Civilisation is now
available on Google: Antiquity. This is a modern history, using
archaeological methodologies.
A 'thank you' to the many
specialists who are providing us with their data and expertise. We
are receiving papers, photos and excavation reports from some of the
world's leading scholars and archaeologists.
John is building a Google Map of
ancient trading routes. This is available through Google (Trade
Routes of Antiquity) and is embedded in our site for Antiquity. It
will contain details on each archaeological site along the Silk Road
(land) and Incense Route (sea and land).
